OVERVIEW
The Regional Campus Distance Education Building (RCDE) is a new 41,000 sf facility that will house the RCDE offices and Distance Education Classrooms. This new 4 story building (plus a basement) includes office space on the upper two floor, and several classrooms including an 80 person, and two 40 person tiered classrooms. The building has been designed to accommodate approximately 500 students per hour. This building will also house offices and a technical support center for the Utah Education Network (UEN).
The RCDE Building is anticipating a LEED Silver Certification. Daylighting, the use of sunshades, and certified wood products as well as high efficiency electrical and mechanical systems are some of the “green” features that are incorporated into this project.
The project includes a 100 ft extension of the campus underground tunnel and utility system to serve the new building. This new tunnel extension connects the building to the central campus utilities.
