OVERVIEW
This building is part of USU’s ongoing mission to enhance and increase access to higher education throughout the state. The Tooele campus already serves more than 800 students, composed of both high school-aged students and adults returning to education to improve their employability.
The majority of the two-story concrete building consists of instructional classrooms with state-of-the-art distance learning capabilities. The building supports Applied Science and includes lab space for chemistry, biology, zoology, and physiology, along with a cadaver lab, three multi-purpose rooms, a conference room and various Interactive Video Conference classrooms. This allows teachers at USU-Tooele to broadcast science classes to other USU campuses around the state while teaching students face-to-face in their classrooms. Additional spaces include an auditorium, study and lounge space for students, and administrative offices for faculty and staff needed to implement these programs.
Additionally, the project includes site development and infrastructure to accommodate the new building and potential future buildings within the campus master plan.
