OVERVIEW

The Regional Campus Distance Education Building (RCDE) is a new 41,000 SF facility housing RCDE offices and Distance Education Classrooms. This 4-story building includes office space on the upper two floors, and state-of-the-art classrooms filled with interactive video conferencing broadcast equipment and digital technology below. These varying types of instructional spaces include several experimental classrooms that utilize cutting-edge technology in a completely flexible environment. The building also houses offices and a technical support center for the Utah Education Network (UEN).

Daylighting, the use of sunshades, and certified wood products as well as high efficiency electrical and mechanical systems are some of the “green” features that are incorporated into this project.

The project includes a 100-FT extension of the campus underground tunnel and utility system to serve the new building. This new tunnel extension connects the building to the central campus utilities.
